World Health Organization (WHO) together with the Embassy of Ireland in Uganda have given more support in form of two vehicles to Uganda’s Ministry of Health to trot Ebola preparedness and response said World Health Organization representative to Uganda, Mr. Yonas Tegegn WOLDEMARIAM.
The vehicles will support logistics, surveillance and any other component of the response phase. This will strengthen efforts in containing the Ebola outbreak in Kasese District.
The minister of Health, Hon Jane Ruth Aceng said there is only one suspect case in isolation in Bwera Ebola Treatment Unit.
“Out of the three suspects we had yesterday, two tested Negative for Ebola while results are pending for one suspect case (in isolation). I would like to appeal to the nation to AVOID shaking hands and any form of body contact as the country faces this Ebola outbreak. I also discourage mass gatherings. ALWAYS wash your hands with soap, jik and water.” added Hon. Aceng.
