FUBA during a press release on Thursday the 13th of June announced the participation of the Silver backs and Gezelles basketball teams in the AfroCAN & AfroBasket Women qualifiers respectively.

The first AfroCAN 2019 (Men) will take place in Mali from 16th to 28th July 2019 while the AfroBasket Women will take place on 26th July 2019 in Kampala.

The selected teams entered a training camp on Thursday 13th June at the Lugogo Arena in preparation for the qualifiers.

Silverbacks head coach George Galanopoulos revealed that their primary goal will be to qualify for the next round.

“Our primary goal is to qualify for the next round and we are going to take it day by day during our training camp to make sure that we achieve ultimate goal”, said Galanopoulos, Head Coach of the Silverbacks.
