Comedian Kevin Hart steps down from hosting 2019 Oscars. On Tuesday, Kevin Hart took to social media to announce to his avid fans and ardent followers that he had been selected to host 2019 Oscars.

Some of the fans congratulated him and others disagreed with the organizers of Oscars for having chosen Kevin Hart to host this year’s awards.
The later have made the actor and comedian to step down from hosting the Oscars after some of the tweeps brought up his tweets, between 2009 and 2011, that included derogatory language referring to gay people and made disparaging comments about sexuality. Some of the tweets have since been deleted.
Since then, Kevin Hart has taken to social media to announce to the public that he’s stepping down from hosting though it was one of his biggest goal to host the Oscars.
Kevin Hart said, “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s,” Hart said via Twitter. “This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past. I’m sorry that I hurt people… I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.”
The reason for his stepping down from hosting the Oscars is after homophobic tweets surfaced twitter on Thursday.
