Arsenal are interested in signing Hoffenheim’s Kerem Demirbay in the summer to replace the departing Aaron Ramsey.
The Germany international, 25, is available for £22million because of a release clause in his contract.
According to German newspaper Bild, Arsenal have already made contact with Hoffenheim about a potential deal for Demirbay and are willing to meet the release clause.
The No 10 has scored four goals and provided eight assists this season as Hoffenheim chase a return to Champions League football.
Demirbay has also attracted the attention of a number of Turkish clubs but Arsenal reportedly see him as a relatively low-cost replacement for Juventus-bound Ramsey.
