Tottenham win by 2-1 At St James Park Newcastle

Newcastle hosted Tottenham at St James park. Spurs begun the game exerting a good spell of pressure with Lucas Moura’s lightning pace exploding into the Newcastle box. An entertaining start, but the quality of passing begging- mistakes all over the place.

Just within 8 minutes Davinson Sanchez heads the ball inside the box and from close range Jan Vertonghen’s stabbed effort bounces off the bar before Martin Dubravka claws the ball away but it was too late.  Goal line technology to the rescue for Tottenham.

Newcastle responded with an equaliser after three minutes as Matt Ritchie delivered a perfect cross into the box from the right and from close range unmarked, Joselu nods home. Mauricio Pochettino looked furious on the bench at his side falling asleep right after they scored.

At 18 minutes played, Serge Aurier hits a wonderful first time cross from the right and rising high to cushion a header back across goal and into the net is Dele Alli. At this point Tottenham was in the lead again. Serge Aurier has had a great game here but more as a forward.

The games played with tottenham having much of the possession though it was more of Tottenham’s going forward that was impressive to the eye but their defending was all but not pleasant
