Rapper Missy Elliot nominated for the 2019 Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Missy Elliott is among those who have been nominated for the 2019 songwriters Hall of Fame after  the Songwriters Hall of Fame revealing the nominees yesterday.

Missy Elliot, Mariah Carey, Chrissie Hynde, Vince Gill, Mike Love, Jimmy Cliff, Jeff Lynne, Cat Stevens, John Prine, Lloyd Price, Tommy James and the Eurythmics and others, made it to the list of nominees.

The Hall’s 50th annual Induction & Awards Gala  will take place in New York on June 13, 2019.

Missy Elliot,(47), is the first female rapper nominated for the prestigious prize.

Elliott is the first female rapper nominated for the prestigious prize and could also become the third rapper to enter the organization following recent inductees JAY-Z and Jermaine Dupri.

Taking to twitter, she happily announces to fans that she’s been nominated for the prestigious awards.

She wrote, “i am Humbly Grateful to be nominated with so many other AMAZING writers
Congratulations to all of them also.”
