Ludzidzini acting governor Lusendvo Fakudze announced on Friday night that Inkhosikati LaMasango will be buried on Sunday at Ludzidzini Royal Mountain after a vigil.
“Inkhosikati LaMasango, wife to King Mswati has passed and she will be laid to rest on Sunday morning. The nation is duly informed about this tragedy,” Fakudze made an official announcement in the Swaziland Broadcasting and Information Servicey.
Massango, a mother of two, married King Mswati in 2000 at the age of 18 before she grabbed news headlines after she was described as a high school dropout.
She was found dead in the early hours of Friday morning barely a week after the burial of her sister Nombuso Masango where the king had ordered that she neither attends her late sister’s memorial service nor funeral.
Lately she is said to have lived alone for over three years in a big mansion with no single visit from her husband.
It is alleged that the king’s wife over dosed on about 40 amytriptyline capsules, which according to pharmaceuticals is sold under the brand name Elavil among others and a medicine primarily used to treat a number of mental illnesses.
