First Lady Margaret Kenyatta in London to represent Kenya at the summit on illegal wildlife trade.
On Wednesday evening, the first Lady of Kenya, Mrs. Margaret Kenyatta was hosted to a royal reception at the St James Palace in London ahead of the official opening of the fourth Conference on Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT) shortly after arriving in the United Kingdom.
On arrival at the palace, the First Lady Mrs Kenyatta, who is the patron of the “Hands Off Our Elephants” initiative was met by the Duke of Cambridge Prince William Arthur and the Duke of Sussex Prince Harry before joining other dignitaries invited for the reception.
The First Lady was accompanied by her Chief of Staff, Ms Constance Gakonyo.
Today, Thursday, the First Lady will lead the Kenyan delegation at the IWT London conference which brings together delegations from 75 countries to discuss ways of combating illegal wildlife trade.
