Cindy Sanyu’s first movie ‘Bella’ lands her another nomination in International awards.

Uganda’s dancehall queen turned actress Cindy Sanyu, has received a nomination in the Nigerian Entertainment Awards for her first ever movie ‘Bella’.

The ‘Ayokyayokya’ hit maker has been selected in the Non Nigerian ‘Best Lead Role in Film’ category and will battle Chris Attoh (Esohe), Rushabiro Raymond (The Tourture), Adjetey Anang (Keteke), Nyce  Wanjeri (Auntie Boss), Pearl Thusi (Catching Feelings).

This nomination comes after being selected in the 6th annual AMVCA awards that took place on September 1 but the singer lost to Nigeria’s Omotola Jalade Ekeinde for her role in Alter Ego.

About ‘Bella’ Movie.

The movie features major actors on the Ugandan scene including; Abby Mukiibi, Roger Mugisha, Matthew Nabwiso, Stella Nantumbwe, Simon Base Kalema, Michael Wawuyo Jr, Joel Okuyo etc.

Sanyu who plays the role of a homeless girl who lived on the streets for a long time after being kicked out by her father. A music promoter discovers her singing talent and makes her a star.
