Sad news this morning indicates that former rally driver, Charles Muhangi has passed on at his home in Buziga.
According to the Police Spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, the police has dispatched a team to investigate what could have caused the death of the popular businessman.
The deceased has been involved in a legal battle with fellow tycoons Hajji Mansour Matovu and Drake Lubega over the ownership of downtown plaza, Qualicell Bus Terminal.
He is also the proprietor of Horizon Coaches.
Muhangi was the first typical black African and Ugandan to win the Africa Rally Championship in 1999 with his famous “Ekitaguriro” Subaru Impreza.
He also has the 1998 Pearl of Africa Championship on his name.
Earlier this year, under unexpected circumstances the businessman announced a comeback from retirement saying; “I still have what it takes to get back to competitive rallying. I want to as well report that next year I will be right back.”
